Traveling Around the World

I was borne in Israel and lived there for the first sixteen years of my life; I migrated to Canada via Italy, France and England, finally to the United States, lived in Hawaii, and finally Los Angeles.

Italy

Pompeii

On my way to Canada we (My family and I) traveled through Naples Italy, where I had a rare opportunity to see Pompeii before it was completely excavated.

France

France's Louvre Museum

We continued on through Paris France, where we stayed for a whole week and managed to visit the Louvre, the Opera, and the famous Paris zoo. We continued on to England.

England

British Crown Jewels

We arrived in England five weeks before the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II; Remained in England until after the coronation and proceeded on to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada on board the M.V. Georgic. and then, by train to Vancouver, B.C. While in London I had the wonderful experience of visiting most of the museums and points of interest of London. Saw the Crown Jewels (except the ones that were being prepared for the coronation) Not too many people have the opportunity to experience London England during a coronation. I did.

Lived in Canada

Kitsilano High School

The next two years were spent at Kitsilano High school. By Feb 1955 My family moved on to Chicago, USA

U.S. Army

On April 1st 1955 I joined the U.S. Army Military Police corp. Had the privilege to be trained at Camp Gordon GA and was assigned to San Antonio Tex. There I was injured and landed in the Beaumont Army Hospital, which in turn caused the army to send me to Hawaii as a life guard (Knee ReHab)

Hawaii

Hawaii

What a break; Life Guard in Hawaii. What can one say to add to this wonderful experience; Getting paid to swim, surf and fish; Oh yes, sit on a tower and make sure that swimmers do not drown. Hard job, but someone had to do it. Why not me????
